White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders held a press briefing today after a brief hiatus. President Trump has told her that she should not be forced to endure the unfair treatment by the media that she has seen in the past.
Today, Sarah was not going to put up with any mouthing off by reporters who are determined to make a story and get clicks to their websites.
The main theme of today’s briefing was the reporters asserting that President Trump is an anti-Semite and racist against Jewish people, something that could not be further from the truth.
“The president’s been an unwavering and committed ally to Israel, and the Jewish people.”
She pointed specifically to the recent comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar where she made anti-Israel remarks in front of a rally crowd. Sarah says that she should be reprimanded and stripped of her committee status.
“It should be done the way Republicans did it when Steve King made terrible comments. We called it out by name, we stripped him of his committee memberships, and we’d like to see Democrats follow suit.”
Later on in the briefing, CNN’s Jim Acosta pipes up to try and incite Sarah. He asks if she thinks that President Trump can tone down his “racist” rhetoric going into the 2020 election.
Her answer is brilliant.
“Look, I think the same in all of this is the Democrats are perfectly capable of coming together and agreeing on the fact that they’re comfortable ripping babies straight from their mother’s womb or killing a baby after birth. But they have a hard time condemning the type of comments from Congresswoman Omar. I think that is a great shame. The president has been clear on what his position is; certainly what his support is for the people and the community of Israel.”
Amen! Instead of trying to accuse President Trump of being against Jewish people, the Democrats need to look within their own ranks for bad rhetoric and stop projecting onto President Trump.
